Word Aflame Publications is pleased to announce the appointment of a new field editor for the youth level. Brother Kent d Curry, of Bridgeton, Missouri, comes to us with excellent qualifications. Having been raised in the home of Reverend Marvin and Shirley Curry, the manager of the Pentecostal Publishing House, he has a unique view of the publishing industry. Among the things that qualify him for this responsibility are his love for and submission to Jesus Christ, his education and work experience in the field of journalism, his involvement in the Sunday school classroom, his work with the Bible quizzing program, his expertise in the computer field, his love and burden for young people, and his creative abilities. Brother Curry and his wife Nita are the parents of Caleb, age two. They are active members of New Life Pentecostal Church in Bridgeton, pastored by Reverend Garry Tracy.

Fall 2001 begins a new series of expository lessons for adult classes—the Word Aflame Expository Series. The series is a five-year study of expository lessons from the New Testament, and from the Books of Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon.

Word Aflame adult lessons traditionally have been topical lessons. In fact, Word Aflame has a rich library of about thirty years of topical adult lessons. You may be wondering, What is the difference between topical and expository lessons? The difference is in the approach to the subjects studied. A topical approach attempts to cover many, if not every aspect of the topic under study.
On the other hand, a strictly expository approach limits and guides the study by the constraints of the lesson text. Expository lessons may not necessarily be studied verse by verse, however, the lesson is presented by carefully following the thoughts of the Scripture text. Expository lessons are challenging to write, but the studies that result are enlightening and inspiring. May you enjoy these expository lessons!
