Apostolic Day of Prayer on Friday, March 27
Apostolic Day of Prayer, Friday, March 27
The Apostolic Fellowship Summit is calling all Apostolic Pentecostals to prayer for our nation on Friday, March 27. The Summit is an annual meeting of the seven largest Oneness Pentecostal organizations in the United States, hosted by Urshan Graduate School of Theology. Leaders of these organizations will pray together on Friday, March 27, at Noon (Eastern) via Zoom. Prayer will be focused on each organization, our nation, and the world. This time of prayer will also be livestreamed on the UPCI Facebook page. Participating organizations of the AFS are the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus, Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ, Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, International Bible Way Church, Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, and the United Pentecostal Church International. The Global Council of the UPCI is also calling all its member churches to prayer on this day.
Operations at World Headquarters
To protect our employees from the heightened risk associated with the coronavirus pandemic, the United Pentecostal Church International’s World Headquarters in Weldon Spring, Missouri, is limiting its on-site operations effective Tuesday, March 24. Our staff members will be working from home in every case possible. Employees whose duties are essential to maintaining on-site operations will continue to report to our headquarters location. Additional steps are being taken to protect those employees from infection, including enhanced sanitation protocols and adherence to social distancing guidelines.
We will continue to answer telephone calls at World Headquarters. Due to reduced staff, some calls may be answered by our automated system. If your call is answered in this way, please use the directory that is provided, and your call will be routed to someone in the ministry or department you are trying to reach.
The UPCI is committed to following all laws and guidelines established by governmental leaders and agencies for the protection of our employees. At the same time, we will do our best to continue serving our constituents who are laboring for the Kingdom during these uncertain times. We know that God is in control, and we will continue to trust Him.
Suggestions for Church Finances
Proactively adjusting your church’s budget before or during a downturn will allow you to better manage finances during troubled times. Rick Lovall, the UPC Loan Fund’s senior loan officer, shares five recommendations for how pastors can plan for the pending economic crisis. For more information and these recommendations, click here.
UPCI Loan Fund
The UPC Loan Fund is in a strong financial position to assist our churches during the current COVID-19 crisis. As of today, March 24, 2020, the Fund manages $70,352,700 in total assets with zero loans past due. We are required to maintain adequate capital (5% Net Assets) in cash, as well as maintain 8% of our total investments in cash. We are pleased to inform you that our Net Assets are 7.3% and our Liquidity is 28%. Our surplus of cash will allow us to meet current loan demand, as well as allow us to redeem any investment certificates that are maturing in 2020 and need to be withdrawn. Last year, we saw 88% of our investment certificates reinvest with the fund. In a proactive measure, the Loan Fund Board has implemented the “2020 COVID-19 Economic Response Program” that offers multiple options to churches who have mortgages with the Loan Fund and may experience a negative financial trend as a result of our nation’s economic downturn. The Loan Fund is here to support our churches and help the harvest continue to grow, even during economic distress.
The LifeSprings Ventures under The Stewardship Group introduces an entrepreneur option for live and playback streaming of your services. This option allows churches to connect with their members—even their elderly—without being in physical contact. While a video may reach some people in your church, what about those with limited internet, no Facebook account, or no smartphone?
PhoneLiveStreaming.com, sponsored by Smart Talk, has a new product that allows you to livestream or playback over a regular telephone number. You are provided your own dedicated phone number, and callers are greeted with your church’s name. If callers elect to be notified, they will also receive a phone call every time you are live. And when they answer, they are connected to your service.
Once you are finished livestreaming, your audio is automatically archived for playback. Callers on Monday can listen in to Sunday’s message. Only have an MP3 recording of your service? Just upload it using our website and callers will hear that when dialing your number. To learn more, visit PhoneLiveStreaming.com, or call David Plappert at (855) 670-0076 x1.
Sincerely in Christ,
David K. Bernard
