We are saddened to announce the passing of Raul Orozco, the bishop of La Senda Antigua in southern California and the general director of the UPCI’s Spanish Evangelism Ministries. Brother Orozco was a member of the UPCI’s General Board and the pastor of our largest church and daughter work network in North America.

Brother Orozco was born in Mexico on August 7, 1954. His family later immigrated to the United States, where Brother Orozco was introduced to the Apostolic Pentecostal message. After his conversion, he became involved in the ministry of his local church, and eventually he became the pastor. Brother Orozco was a soul-winner and church planter who helped establish more than 30 churches in southern California and in his home country of Mexico. The churches he established remain closely connected, meeting annually in a rented facility for a worship gathering that draws thousands. The network of churches Brother Orozco established and oversaw includes more than 6,000 constituents.

Brother Orozco departed from this life on Monday, December 14, one day after preaching his final sermon at La Senda Antigua in Norwalk, California, where he had served as pastor for 33 years. We ask that you keep his wife, family, church, and Spanish Evangelism Ministries in your prayers during this difficult time.

Sincerely in Christ,

David K. Bernard
